Construction Staking & Layout
Buildings, utilities, roadways, and drainage staked from the engineer's plans so every crew on site builds to the same reference.
About this service.
Construction staking translates the engineer's drawings into marks on the ground that contractors can build from. We establish horizontal and vertical control for the site, then stake what each phase needs: clearing limits, rough grade, building corners and offsets, storm and sanitary sewer, waterlines, curb and gutter, paving, and final grade.
Each stake carries the information the crew needs — station, offset, cut or fill — and we return as construction progresses to stake the next phase and to re-establish anything disturbed. As-built surveys at completion document what was actually constructed for the owner, engineer, and permitting authority.
Our team works from the contractor's and engineer's digital files, flags plan conflicts when we find them, and keeps the project's control consistent from first stake to as-built.
When you need one
- Commercial, institutional, and multifamily building construction
- Subdivision infrastructure: streets, utilities, and drainage
- Site work, grading, and paving projects
- As-built surveys required for project close-out or permit compliance
What you receive
- Site control network with benchmarks and control points
- Staking by phase: clearing, grading, utilities, structures, paving, and final grade
- Cut sheets and stake reports delivered digitally after each visit

Staking is scheduled around the contractor's sequence. Most phases can be staked within a day or two of request once control is set.
